Welcome to Authentic Bengal Cats, the website where we answer YOUR questions about Bengal cat ownership.
In today’s article we are going to answer the question ‘can Bengal cats eat cooked chicken?’
This is part of our ever-expanding series on what foods are safe (or dangerous!) for your Bengal cat.
We hope you find it interesting and informative.
So, can Bengal cats eat cooked chicken?
Yes, your Bengal cat can safely eat cooked chicken!
In a previous article we discussed whether or not your Bengal cat can eat raw chicken, but cooked chicken is definitely 100% fine.
In fact, some cooked chicken is probably one of the best “tasty human treats” you can feed your cat!
It is high in protein and low in fat, and your Bengal is bound to love it.
The only things to consider are:
1. Be wary of feeding your Bengal chicken that is too hot. Cooked doesn’t have to mean ‘piping hot’ out of the oven, frying pan or grill. You need to be careful that you don’t feed your Bengal chicken that is so hot it burns their mouth/throat. What is cool enough for you to eat as a human may be too hot for your Bengal, so best to let it cool down completely first.
2. Also avoid feeding your Bengal any chicken that has been cooked in sauces/gravies etc – not only might the ingredients potentially be harmful to your Bengal, but they could also contain a lot of empty calories that offer no nutritional value. Same goes with condiments like salt and pepper. It’s best to feed your Bengal small quantities of plain, cooked chicken breast, thigh etc.
If you can bear those two points in mind, then there is no reason why you can’t feed your Bengal some delicious chicken.
Yes, Bengal cats can eat cooked chicken and they will love you for it!
Insanely comprehensive 🙂
